The last couple of days of camp were possibly some of my favorite. There was a weird feeling in the air, everyone knew camp was about to come to an end but no one wanted it to happen just yet. As long as it felt like I was at camp, it wasn’t enough and I wanted more. There were still so many friendships being made and strengthened everyday and I wanted to keep the ball rolling but it had to stop eventually. Looking back at camp it blows my mind how we fitted so much in and accomplished so much in only 8 weeks. We were our own little community all working towards the same goal of having as much fun as possible; and boy did we reach that goal.
It truly was the craziest and most unforgettable summer of my life. Saying goodbye to everyone was hard but I knew that it wasn’t goodbye forever, the friends made at camp are friends for life and I’m excited to see where and when we’ll meet again. Thank you Camp America and Cedar Lake Camp for the best summer of my life.”
Now it’s time to travel!
After camp almost everyone as doing some sort of traveling, it seemed like you could tag along to almost anywhere in the world. I opted to travel solo and see where the wind would take me. I caught a bus from camp to the heart of Manhattan where I spent 5 nights in a China Town hostel seeing the sights and exploring the city. While in town I met a guy visiting from San Francisco and made a last minute decision to head back with him. So that’s where I currently find myself. SF is really nice, the cold and fog was a bit of a shock at first but a nice change from the blistering heat of camp and the east coast.
The plan from here is to head to L.A and San Diego in about a week and keep the US adventure going until the middle of October when I fly back home with a million and one stories to tell.
